About Alpine Europe

Alpine Europe Summer School is an intensive two-week programme, which explores the sustainability and creation of the built environment starting in the forest itself and following the value chain all the way through design, manufacturing and construction. It takes place in the Alpine and Mediterranean European Environment. In 2019, the programme will be implemented in Slovenia and Italy.

It is hosted by the University of Primorska Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies (UP FAMNIT) and Oregon State University College of Forestry (OSU CoF).

The programme runs every second year and each time offers different visits, excursions and field trips.

Alpine Europe is taught in English by an international team of instructors from USA and Europe, with expertise in the different fields of wood sciences. The school is accredited by both U.S. (6 undergraduate or 3 graduate credits) and the European University Credit Ssystems (6 ECTS), by the Oregon State University and the University of Primorska, respectively.

Our goal is to provide not only concept and content, but to also facilitate interactions between, and learning among students coming from different countries.
